Wooden Geta Sandals by BEAMS JAPAN

The geta is a traditional Japanese slipper that was the inspiration source of the flip-flop. Founded in 1949 in Hita City of Oita prefecture, Uratsuka Kobo originated as a manufacturer of wooden footbeds for the local geta industry. The smooth oval footbed curved to hold the foot is made of Japanese cypress wood which is naturally deodorizing and anti-bacterial. This BEAMS JAPAN exclusive model cleverly combines the traditional wooden footbed with a Birkenstock sole for a practical anti-slip feature and cushioned comfort. The cushioned cotton thongs are hand made in Osaka.
